Federal EEO-1 and VETS-4212 Reports:
Guidance on Federal EEO-1 and VETS-4212 reports for 2025 – Questions have come in regarding the future requirements of the Federal EEO-1 Report and the VETS 4212 Report requirements. At this time, it appears that Federal contractors and subcontractors will continue to have obligations related to federal and state laws, such as EEO-1 and VETS-4212 filings, and the state pay data reporting requirement of the new Massachusetts Pay Transparency Law. We advise employers to continue to participate in these required compliance filings.
Unemployment Insurance (UI) Agreement:
The Healey Administration and the US Department of Labor (USDOL) jointly announced a settlement Monday under which the Massachusetts unemployment insurance (UI) system will be required to pay back the federal government $2.1 billion over the next 10 years.
State officials discovered in 2023 that the Baker administration improperly used $2.5 billion in federal pandemic relief funds during the COVID-19 pandemic to cover jobless benefits that should have been paid by the state.
