10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Ensure a smooth transition of leadership in your organization

What is succession planning and why is it important? The simple answer is it is a process designed to help organizations ensure a smooth transition when key employees leave or retire. Through a combination of lectures, case studies, and interactive exercises, you’ll learn how to identify potential successors, assess their readiness, and develop a plan to prepare them for their new roles. You’ll also learn how to communicate the succession plan to stakeholders and manage the transition process effectively. By the end of the course, you’ll have the knowledge and skills you need to create a comprehensive succession plan that meets the needs of your organization and its employees. In this class you will:

  • Discover the components of an employee inventory
  • Define the action items resulting from your employee inventory
  • Convert these action items into a training agenda, a development process and the identification of organization’s significant vulnerabilities in key positions
  • Implement an action plan that identifies current and future internal backup candidates and a recruitment plan to address issues where no internal backup exists.

Strategies for successfully guiding transformation in the workplace

Forbes.com contributor, John Kotter has said, “Change management refers to a set of tools or structure intended to keep any change effort under control. Change leadership, on the other hand, concerns the driving forces, visions, and processes that fuel transformation. “Understanding the change process and leading change are two totally different things. This session is the follow up to ‘An Introduction to Change Management’ and is done with leadership seeking to implement a major, organization-wide change with significant impacts. This knowledge-building session gives you the chance to:
  • Recognize the key elements of change management
  • Summarize leaderships unique role in driving change throughout the organization
  • Evaluate your individual areas of growth as it relates to a leaders responsibility
  • Demonstrate utilizing people, visions, and processes to drive larger-scale, sustainable changes.
